Conservative Unleashed is Launched

Welcome to Conservative Unleashed, a conservative blog where I voice my viewpoints on what is wrong with America and who is to blame for it. If you want to know more about who I am, check out my about me page. If you want to know more about why left wing liberals are completely nuts, just come back often and read my blog. Why am I doing this? Well, I’ve been growing more and more interested in politics over the last several years and I’ve discovered there’s a reason why conservatives are called “the right”. It is because they are.
Of course, right now being a conservative is not as popular as it was back when Ronald Reagan was President, God rest his soul. We’ve just come off eight years of one of the most unpopular Presidents in history with George W. Bush. I’m sure I’ll talk about Bush in many posts to come, but for now I’ll just say I respect the man for doing what he felt was right. You’ve got to respect any politician who will stick to their core principles regardless of what the popular opinion may say. I mean, most politicians sway to and fro like a palm tree in a hurricane. When public opinion goes one way, they tell the public what they want to hear. When public opinion goes the other way, they suddenly change their mind and tell you the opposite. Another thing Bush did was keep us safe for seven years following 9/11. I think if you asked everyone on September 12th if America would go seven years without another terrorist attack on our soil, most people would have said no way. Bush did it, and I thank him for that.
You could probably guess that I voted for McCain, but I wasn’t happy about it. In my opinion, he is no conservative. He’s a tough American and I respect him for his service to his country, but he just didn’t stand for many of the conservative principles I believe in. Even so, the other choice on the ballot was so completely different from my beliefs that McCain was the only choice I really had. So, I voted for him. I don’t regret it, because I voted for who was closest to my beliefs and principles.
So, now Barack Obama is our 44th President. Now, I’m a white man born and raised in the South, but that doesn’t make me a racist like so many would believe. Yeah, I had a four wheel drive pickup back in high school with a Rebel flag on the front bumper, but that doesn’t make me a racist either. Racism is not why I wouldn’t vote for Obama…principles are. I really have no problem whatsoever with an Arican American as President. My problem lies with his liberal ideals. Despite that, he’s our President now and I have great respect for the office so I thought I would give the man a chance to show who he really is. I say that because nobody really knows. In the primaries, he was far left because that is what was needed to raise the money needed for the campaign. Then after he clenched the nomination, it was a complete u-turn and a mad dash to the middle. Why? Because that is what was needed to win over the independent voters and win the general election. It was really hard to know which Obama would show up on day one. So, I said let’s give the man a chance and see where he leads us.
Well, Obama’s now less than two weeks into his term and I’m already asking what in the name of Sam Hill is this guy doing? It’s crazy. I don’t even know where to begin. His whole campaign was about change, but he’s filled his administration with career politicians, many of whom come from previous administrations. Well, how can you bring about great change to Washington with a team full of Washington insiders? It ain’t gonna happen folks! Then he talks about his administration bringing new ethics to Washington. Hello, his pick for Secretary of the Treasury failed to pay his income taxes. Is he serious? Then right after our $700 billion stimulus package which has done nothing for the economy, he proposes over $800 billion in new spending and says this is just the beginning. The beginning of what? Our nation’s bankruptcy? Let’s just say if he continues on this path, our country is going to be owned by China, Japan or Russia someday. Why? Because we won’t be able to pay back all the money we’re borrowing to flush down the toilet right now. Is this a joke? No, it’s Washington politics as usual, only this time it’s on steroids. Folks, there is no change…that’s the joke.
So that brings me to the birth of Conservative Unleashed. I just can’t hold all this in anymore. I have to let it out and this blog is where that’s going to happen. I hope you enjoy all my rants and raves because I know I will.
Who the heck is Shawn Swisher? I am a man who believes America is truly a great country. I believe we need to return to the Constitution and the Christian principles this country was founded on. I believe we must protect and preserve our freedoms, or we will most definitely lose them. I believe left wing liberals are a bunch of loons. I am a conservative... join me in the revolution!
