Happy Tax Freedom Day!
By · April 13, 2009Hip hip hooray, it’s Tax Freedom Day! What’s this you ask? Today is the day Americans begin to make money for themselves. Prior to today, you’ve just been working for the government. This year, the average American will pay just over 28% of their income in taxes and it will take them 103 days of work to pay for this, making today the day politicians remove their hands from our pockets (at least until they blow through the money). Enjoy the day, for in just two days we will mark the day all Americans hate…Tax Day!
Who the heck is Shawn Swisher? I am a man who believes America is truly a great country. I believe we need to return to the Constitution and the Christian principles this country was founded on. I believe we must protect and preserve our freedoms, or we will most definitely lose them. I believe left wing liberals are a bunch of loons. I am a conservative... join me in the revolution!

I have to tell you that you make me just laugh! When I am most depressed about the “state” that the United States is now in, I look forward to your views and take much delight as you put your twist on what is otherwise normally bad news. You have a gift of making light on what should be something we are all concerned about more tolerable with your humor. I thank you for your candor and linking that to hard facts about politics. I have become more concerned as I have grown older, about where our country is heading, and your blog is just great! It is informative, yet not stuffy. And you always leave me cracked up at the end! Keep up the good work!
