Governor Sanford Resign Already

Posted by: Shawn Swisher | Comments (0)

Many thought he was the future star of the Republican Party. Now, he’s yesterday’s leftovers. Not only has he publicly announced that he had a long-term affair with a woman in Argentina, he now admits that there have been a handful of other women that he has “crossed lines” with. Apparently while taking trips with friends he would find women to be friendly with, although he says he never had sex with any of them except the Argentenian woman. Governor Sanford supported the impeachment proceedings of Bill Clinton as a result of his affair. Don’t be a hypocrite Governor, it’s time to resign.

You’ve all probably heard it. You’ve heard it in the media. You’ve heard it from the White House. You’ve heard it from your Congressmen. You’ve heard it over and over that roughly 50 million Americans are uninsured. The only problem is it’s not true. According to the latest data available from the U.S. Census Bureau, there are 45.65 million people in the U.S. without health insurance. Now here’s the kicker. The Census Bureau statistics also state that 9.7 million of those people are not U.S. citizens, which brings us to a total of 35.95 million, or roughly 36 million Americans without health insurance. This means the media and our wonderful politicians have been inflating the actual number by nearly 40%! Why? So that we will feel the problem is much worse than it actually is and think that our only hope is for more government control. The bottom line is the mainstream media and the liberal socialist movement are completely in bed with each other so keep that in mind the next time you’re getting your news.

SCOTUS just reversed an appellate court decision in which current Supreme Court nominee Sonia Sotomayor was involved in. The case involved a group of New Haven, CT firefighters who had sued the city for racial discrimination. The city had developed a test for firefighters to take to qualify for promotions. Because very few minority firefighters qualified for the promotions, the city decided not to hand out any promotions at all in fear they would be sued by minority groups. At the appellate court level, Sotomayor issued an opinion that New Haven acted within the law to protect itself from discrimination lawsuits. However, in its reversal today, SCOTUS said in a 5-4 ruling that New Haven would have to prove that there was a strong basis for it actually being held liable. In other words, fear of legal action alone is not enough. The court ruled that New Haven’s actions against the firefighters constituted discrimination without legal justification.

Now that Sotomayor’s opinion on such an important issue as racism has been ruled incorrect, should she still be considered for the life-time appointment of Supreme Court Justice? Is racism only racism when it’s against a minority? Apparently Sotomayor believes racism against whites is completely justified. I wonder how this will play out during her confirmation hearing? I mean, when the High Court says your ruling was wrong, should you still be considered for the job? Nevertheless, I have no doubt that the left wing loons in the Senate will glaze over the issue and champion her right through because she has such a “wonderful life story”. After all, the great one made the choice so he gets what he wants, right?

In memory of the King of Pop, I thought I would post this video of 1,500+ Filipino prisoners dancing to Michael Jackson’s hit Thriller. Not many videos on YouTube achieve these stats. Nearly 25 million views and 65,000+ ratings with a 5 star average. If you remember the Thriller dance, check this one out.

Obamacare Explained

Posted by: Shawn Swisher | Comments (1)

This is a great video by Dick Morris explaining how Obama’s health care plan will inevitably result in the rationing of health care services based on financial criteria. Are you 70 years old and needing a new hip? Well, that just might not be practical. You may just need to take some pain medicine and deal with it. Are you pregnant and thought you would just get some drugs and have that c-section? Not so fast, that may just be too expensive. Your baby can come on out the old-fashioned way. There’s a reason why Canadians suffer higher mortality rates compared to their American counterparts…it’s called health care rationing.
