Obama: Without My Health Care, America Will End Up Like GM

By Shawn Swisher · June 15, 2009

Well, the attempt to bring socialized medicine to America got one step closer today when the great one spoke in front of the American Medical Association and said we just have to have government health care or it’s really going to get bad.

Our largest companies are suffering, as well. A big part of what led General Motors and Chrysler into trouble in recent decades were the huge costs they racked up providing health care for their workers — costs that made them less profitable and less competitive with automakers around the world. If we do not fix our health care system, America may go the way of GM — paying more, getting less, and going broke.

Umm, excuse me Mr. Prez but it wasn’t just health care costs that helped to bring down GM. It was retirement benefits as well. And the reason both of those costs were so much higher for GM compared to their foreign competitors can be summed up in three letters…U-A-W. Of course you couldn’t mention that because those are your boys, right?

So, Obama says that unless we adopt government health care, America is going to go down the toilet. This from the guy who told us that unless we implemented his $787 billion stimulus package, America could see unemployment rates reach as high as 8%. The latest figures show unemployment at 9.4%.

This is the same guy who said we had to pass that big stimulus package so the money could get flowing into the economy, yet today less the $50 billion of the $787 billion has been spent. Huh, that’s funny…I guess it wasn’t a big emergency after all.

This is the same guy who back during the presidential campaign blasted John McCain for proposing a tax on employer-provided health care, yet now admits he will consider the exact same tax to help pay for his monstrous health program.

My question is why in the name of Sam Hill should we believe this steaming pile of bull? Just name me something the government runs effectively and within budget. Anything?

Yeah, I couldn’t think of anything either.
