Weekend Top 10
By Shawn Swisher · July 11, 200910. America Moving to the Right
Despite what the 2008 election results may have indicated, a new Gallup poll shows that Americans are becoming more conservative in their beliefs.
9. Obama’s Russsian Gaffe
On his first trip to Russia as President, Barry took the audience down memory lane and reminded the Russians of the great deal they gave us on Alaska.
“Along the way, you gave us a pretty good deal on Alaska. Thank you.”
Had his speechwriters done any research, they would have known that most Russians consider this a monstrous blunder by their country. You see, Russia sold Alaska to the U.S. for less than two cents per acre only to find out later that the massive chunk of land was laden with oil.
8. SEIU Fights Card Check
Remember how the unions were saying card check would give American workers more freedom to choose? Well, it seems that’s only the case when those workers aren’t voting to join a competing union. While trying to prevent its union members from joining a rival union, the SEIU is using the exact same tactics it accuses employers of using to stop unionization. Hahahaha…It’s funny when hypocrites feel the blade of their own knife.
7. Ford Beats Government Motors
Ford Motor Company, the only one of the American auto makers to not take a government bailout, outsold GM in June both in the U.S. and Canada. The year-over-year industry average was a decline of 27% with both GM and Chrysler garnering over a 30% decline from last year. Ford’s sales were only off 11% from last year. This doesn’t surprise me. I’ve heard several people lately say that they will no longer purchase GM or Chrysler products, opting for Ford instead. After all, these companies have totally screwed thousands of bondholders, dealers and employees across the country, all under the leadership of Chairman Obama.
6. Schumer Says Screw Bipartisanship
In his own words: “If you did a consensus within the Democratic Party, you would find the level-playing-field public option to be the answer…and now that we have 60 votes, it seems to me like we don’t have to turn it inside out for something we don’t like.” This is the same ninnyhammer who said Americans don’t care about porky spending.
5. Barry Shakes Hands With A Terrorist
President Obama shook hands with Libyan leader Muammar al-Qaddafi Thursday, a sign that relations have improved considerably between the U.S. and the North African nation. Quaddafi accepted responsibility for the 1988 bombing of Pan Am flight 103 which exploded over Scotland killing nearly 300 people.
4. Senator Burris Won’t Run Again
Illinois Sen. Roland Burris said Friday he won’t run for a full term in 2010, making official the end of a short Senate career clouded by questions about his appointment by disgraced former Gov. Rod Blagojevich.
3. Forty Years of Obama?
President Barack Obama made the world his boldest promise yet Wednesday in the battle to slow the heating of the planet, committing the U.S. to reduce greenhouse gases by 80% by 2050. Wait a minute…2050? Is Barry planning on reigning that long?
2. EPA Analysis Debunks Cap and Trade
An analysis by the EPA estimates cap and trade will have negligible effect on global warming without the participation of India and China. In fact, the analysis shows that it will be international cooperation, not cap and trade, that holds any promise at all at curbing global warming. The enviro-clowns, who often tout EPA reports, now say the agency has it wrong.
1. America Is Waking Up
According to the latest polling data from Rasmussen, voters now trust Republicans more than Democrats on eight out of 10 key electoral issues, including, for the second straight month, the top issue of the economy. They’ve also narrowed the gap on the remaining two issues, the traditionally Democratic strong suits of health care and education. Just give ‘em time. Have you ever seen such political capital squandered so fast?
That’s not the only evidence of BO’s falling popularity. In Ohio, a key swing state, the president’s approval ratings dropped from 62% in May to 49% this month in a new Quinnipiac University poll.
Buyer’s remorse is beginning to set in.

Who the heck is Shawn Swisher? I am a man who believes America is truly a great country. I believe we need to return to the Constitution and the Christian principles this country was founded on. I believe we must protect and preserve our freedoms, or we will most definitely lose them. I believe left wing liberals are a bunch of loons. I am a conservative... join me in the revolution!
