If you just can’t wait for all that “free” government health care that Obama has planned for you, get used to it. You’ll be spending a lot of time waiting after it passes. You’ve heard Chairman Obama and the other leftist socialists praise Canada’s system, but it seems that Canada isn’t all that great of a place to get sick. As a matter of fact, I would say the best health care plan in Canada is to not get sick at all. Watch and see in Steven Crowder’s latest video where he shows you the true Canadian health care system. Believe it or not, you will hear two separate government workers recommending private health care.

Thursday’s Thoughts

Do Americans need a government agency to oversee every single aspect of our lives?

This week, the Obama administration asked Congress to create a new agency to police the fine print on consumer financial products like credit cards and mortgages. The new agency would be responisble for determining if the fees, penalties and interest rates included in the fine print were fair. The administration says that most people don’t read the fine print and need to be protected from the financial institutions. Give me a break! We all know we should read the fine print. Even though we don’t, we know we should so when we don’t, whose fault is it? Do we really need a government agency to read this stuff for us? This place is turning in to a nanny state. While we’re at it, can I get a government aide to hold my hand while I go potty?

Hey, here’s a tip Mr. President. Forget about us and start with Congress. How about requiring that every Congressman actually read the bill before they vote on it? Don’t you think they should read the fine print too?

Governor Sanford Resign Already

Posted by: Shawn Swisher | Comments (0)

Many thought he was the future star of the Republican Party. Now, he’s yesterday’s leftovers. Not only has he publicly announced that he had a long-term affair with a woman in Argentina, he now admits that there have been a handful of other women that he has “crossed lines” with. Apparently while taking trips with friends he would find women to be friendly with, although he says he never had sex with any of them except the Argentenian woman. Governor Sanford supported the impeachment proceedings of Bill Clinton as a result of his affair. Don’t be a hypocrite Governor, it’s time to resign.

Thursday’s Thoughts

Posted by: Shawn Swisher | Comments (0)

The Obama health care machine is going full throttle right now so what better time to ask the following questions. How is it possible that Obama can cut overall health care costs by increasing the number of people who are covered? He claims that cost reductions will come from concessions from health care providers, but if the government is going to pay health care providers less, will this result in a higher or lower quality of health care? Will new doctors be encouraged to enter the profession? What do you think? The Congressional Budget Office says his projected savings will be difficult to achieve. Even though some of the Democrats in Congress are not fully on board with government health care, Obama says he will “absolutely” get health care reform achieved by the end of the year. His blatant cockiness is nauseating by the way.

The big question to ask yourself is this: Who do you trust more with the health of you and your family…you and your doctors, or Barack Obama and the liberal Democrats in Congress?

Thursday’s Thoughts

Posted by: Shawn Swisher | Comments (0)

I plan on adding a couple weekly segments to keep things fresh. The first will be a weekly segment of a thought for you to ponder, just something for you to think about and decide where you stand on an issue. So without further ado let me introduce you to…(drumroll please)…Thursday’s Thoughts.

I’ve seen a lot of airtime being spent lately by both the state-run media outlets and talk shows such as The View on the topic of abortion, specifically about the issue of Dr. Tiller, the late-term abortion doctor who was murdered recently. Most of the segments spent their time blaming the beliefs of conservatives for the murder. Many of them have even gone so far as to say Fox’s Bill O’Reilly has blood on his hands because he often referred to Dr. Tiller as “Tiller the baby killer”. Although O’Reilly was not the one who gave Tiller the nickname, it seems to be justified since Dr. Tiller did in fact end the lives of over 60,000 late term fetuses (aka babies). Don’t misunderstand me here, Dr. Tiller’s murder was wrong. However, it is also wrong to name those who disagree with Tiller’s practice as being accomplices to his murder. And that brings us to today’s thoughts.

Why is it that liberals portray themselves as the ones who stand up for the innocent, the poor, the weak and the downtrodden, yet they wholeheartedly support killing a baby that is close enough to birth to be able to live on its own outside the womb? Is that not murder? If not, then why is it that someone who murders a pregnant woman is typically charged with double homicide, yet a doctor can murder that same child and it’s perfectly legal? Does the unborn child not have a right to life? Do these innocent children have a voice in the decision? Since they cannot speak, should we not stand up and speak for them? Liberals usually hide behind the law and say these doctors do nothing wrong since abortion is legal. Well then, what about slavery? There was a time when owning a human was perfectly legal but humanity chose to do the right thing and end it. Just because something is legal, doesn’t mean it’s right.

And there’s your thought.
