Here’s a great video showing how our national debt has grown since our nation’s birth. It kind of puts things in perspective. California, here we come!

Weekend Top 10

10. America Moving to the Right

Despite what the 2008 election results may have indicated, a new Gallup poll shows that Americans are becoming more conservative in their beliefs.

9. Obama’s Russsian Gaffe

On his first trip to Russia as President, Barry took the audience down memory lane and reminded the Russians of the great deal they gave us on Alaska.

“Along the way, you gave us a pretty good deal on Alaska. Thank you.”

Had his speechwriters done any research, they would have known that most Russians consider this a monstrous blunder by their country. You see, Russia sold Alaska to the U.S. for less than two cents per acre only to find out later that the massive chunk of land was laden with oil.

8. SEIU Fights Card Check

Remember how the unions were saying card check would give American workers more freedom to choose? Well, it seems that’s only the case when those workers aren’t voting to join a competing union. While trying to prevent its union members from joining a rival union, the SEIU is using the exact same tactics it accuses employers of using to stop unionization. Hahahaha…It’s funny when hypocrites feel the blade of their own knife.

7. Ford Beats Government Motors

Ford Motor Company, the only one of the American auto makers to not take a government bailout, outsold GM in June both in the U.S. and Canada. The year-over-year industry average was a decline of 27% with both GM and Chrysler garnering over a 30% decline from last year. Ford’s sales were only off 11% from last year. This doesn’t surprise me. I’ve heard several people lately say that they will no longer purchase GM or Chrysler products, opting for Ford instead. After all, these companies have totally screwed thousands of bondholders, dealers and employees across the country, all under the leadership of Chairman Obama.

6. Schumer Says Screw Bipartisanship

In his own words: “If you did a consensus within the Democratic Party, you would find the level-playing-field public option to be the answer…and now that we have 60 votes, it seems to me like we don’t have to turn it inside out for something we don’t like.” This is the same ninnyhammer who said Americans don’t care about porky spending. Secretary of Treasury Tim “Tax Cheat” Geithner told members of Congress the high rate of unemployment in America is a healthy adjustment for the economy.

Noting the rising unemployment, Geithner said what the economy “is going through is a very necessary and healthy adjustment as [Americans] go back to living within their means.” He added: “We do not have an economy that is growing again.”

So for those of you out there who have lost your job and are barely scraping by, not knowing how you’re going to make it, don’t worry…Timmy says it’s good for you! I tell you what Timmy, if it’s so darn healthy why don’t you give up your job? Do the right thing Timbo and make America stronger!

Yippee, The Stimulus Is Working

Posted by: Shawn Swisher | Comments (0)

At a staged town hall meeting on Wednesday, Chairman Obama told members of the pre-screened audience that the stimulus is working. At the same time, unemployment has risen to 9.5%, the highest level in a quarter century.

Can’t…stop…laughing.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has got the Cap and Trade bill on a fast track, bringing a vote on the issue as early as today. If it passes, the bill would then head to the Senate for a vote there. If you think this legislation is simply something to help the environment, think again. It’s nothing more than an out-of-control government grabbing revenue by imposing an indirect tax on its citizens. Some estimates show that this will cost the average American family around $1,800 a year in increased energy costs. However, the Democrats don’t seem to care. Republicans have offered three amendments to the bill: one that would suspend the program if gas prices hit $5 per gallon, one that would suspend the program if electricity prices rose 10% over 2009, and one that would suspend the program if unemployment rates hit 15%. Guess what? Democrats rejected all three. The bottom line is they could care less if Americans pay five bucks for a gallon of gas or their electricity bill goes up. It’s obvious all they care about is picking our pockets so they can spend our money however they wish. If this thing goes through, it will be the largest tax in American history. Isn’t change wonderful?
