Eight Republicans Vote For The Largest Tax Increase Ever
Posted by: | CommentsThe largest tax increase in American history, also known as Cap and Trade, narrowly passed the House by a vote of 219-212. There were 44 Democrats who voted against the bill but 8 Republicans who voted for it. Michelle Malkin has a list of the 8 Republican turncoats who sold us out. Make a note of their names so you can vote for the other guy/gal in the next primary. This boondoggle wouldn’t have passed had it not been for them.
House Set to Vote on Cap and Trade
Posted by: | CommentsSpeaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has got the Cap and Trade bill on a fast track, bringing a vote on the issue as early as today. If it passes, the bill would then head to the Senate for a vote there. If you think this legislation is simply something to help the environment, think again. It’s nothing more than an out-of-control government grabbing revenue by imposing an indirect tax on its citizens. Some estimates show that this will cost the average American family around $1,800 a year in increased energy costs. However, the Democrats don’t seem to care. Republicans have offered three amendments to the bill: one that would suspend the program if gas prices hit $5 per gallon, one that would suspend the program if electricity prices rose 10% over 2009, and one that would suspend the program if unemployment rates hit 15%. Guess what? Democrats rejected all three. The bottom line is they could care less if Americans pay five bucks for a gallon of gas or their electricity bill goes up. It’s obvious all they care about is picking our pockets so they can spend our money however they wish. If this thing goes through, it will be the largest tax in American history. Isn’t change wonderful?
David Axelrod Bewildered by Tea Party Protesters
Posted by: | CommentsWhen asked on CBS’s “Face the Nation” about the recent nationwide Tea Party protests, White House senior adviser David Axelrod tried to play down the movement by saying it’s just a reaction to a downturn in the economy. Like the rest of Obama’s brown nosers, he clearly just doesn’t understand real, hard working, tax paying Americans. You can check out the full video over at Hot Air. Axelrod goes on to say:
The thing that bewilders me is that this president just cut taxes for 95 percent of the American people…I think the tea bags should be directed elsewhere because he certainly understands the burden that people face.
Hey Dave, are you talking about that fifteen bucks a week we Americans are getting through payroll tax reductions? Yeah, lots of us are currently using that to retire on the French Riviera. I’m searching for my villa as we speak. You fool…what in the Sam Hill is fifteen bucks a week going to do for an American family? Let’s see, for fifteen bucks I can treat my family of four to a nice dinner at McDonald’s, if the kids share a Happy Meal. Oh, and what about the portion of that 95% that smoke? Are you trying to say Obama didn’t raise their taxes? What about Obama’s carbon tax? Are you saying that 95% won’t see higher costs a the gas pump or higher utility costs? What kind of fools do you take us for?
Dave, despite what liberals always seem to think, we Americans are not stupid! Of course, you all wouldn’t know that because you’ve never met us. (It’s not cool to mingle with the peasants.) Here’s an idea. You can keep my fifteen bucks if you’ll just stop robbing my children of their prosperity! I know that you know we cannot pay for Obama’s proposed spending without raising taxes on everyone. It’s simply not possible, so quit treating us like we’re clueless. We all understand that and THAT is what the Tea Parties were all about. Real Americans, expressing real concern about an out of control government that doesn’t seem to remember the principles this great nation was founded on.
Happy Tax Freedom Day!
Posted by: | CommentsHip hip hooray, it’s Tax Freedom Day! What’s this you ask? Today is the day Americans begin to make money for themselves. Prior to today, you’ve just been working for the government. This year, the average American will pay just over 28% of their income in taxes and it will take them 103 days of work to pay for this, making today the day politicians remove their hands from our pockets (at least until they blow through the money). Enjoy the day, for in just two days we will mark the day all Americans hate…Tax Day!
Don’t Get Your Tax Advice from Robert Gibbs
Posted by: | CommentsRecently the Obama administration unveiled a plan to reduce the charitable contribution deduction for people earning above $250,ooo per year. The plan is to reduce the deduction from 35% to 28% and would raise an estimated $318 billion to go into Obama’s proposed $634 billion reserve fund for reforming health care.
Republicans are obviously opposed to this, but even CEOs from non-profit organizations are upset over it as well. Why? Because the contributions their organizations depend on would likely decrease as a result. It’s common sense that reducing the incentive to make charitable contributions will lead to fewer charitable contributions. Duh! No rocket scientist needed to figure that one out! Read More→
Who the heck is Shawn Swisher? I am a man who believes America is truly a great country. I believe we need to return to the Constitution and the Christian principles this country was founded on. I believe we must protect and preserve our freedoms, or we will most definitely lose them. I believe left wing liberals are a bunch of loons. I am a conservative... join me in the revolution!
