Archive for Tim Geithner

Secretary of Treasury Tim “Tax Cheat” Geithner told members of Congress the high rate of unemployment in America is a healthy adjustment for the economy.

Noting the rising unemployment, Geithner said what the economy “is going through is a very necessary and healthy adjustment as [Americans] go back to living within their means.” He added: “We do not have an economy that is growing again.”

So for those of you out there who have lost your job and are barely scraping by, not knowing how you’re going to make it, don’t worry…Timmy says it’s good for you! I tell you what Timmy, if it’s so darn healthy why don’t you give up your job? Do the right thing Timbo and make America stronger!

You’ve heard the old saying about the pot calling the kettle black, or maybe the one about people in glass houses throwing stones, right? We’ll here’s one of those old sayings live and in living color. Secretary of the Treasury Tim “the Tax Cheat” Geithner told the House Ways and Means Committee that the Obama administration will propose legislation designed to limit wealthy Americans ability to use tax havens to avoid taxation.

(moment of silence to let you ponder the hypocrisy of that statement)

Okay genius, let me get this straight. You defy the IRS and avoid paying your taxes but now you want to go after Americans who are trying to avoid paying taxes…and you actually pull off saying it with a straight face? Wait a minute. I know what’s going on here. We’re all on Candid Camera, right? This whole thing about socialism and the economy going down the crapper is just a big practical joke, right? Where are the hidden cameras? They’ve got to be around here somewhere.

Oh well, back to reality. If you would like to join the rebellion against this hypocrisy and do your small part to label Mr. Geithner as the tax cheat that he is, check out the tax cheat stamp. How does it work? I’ll let you figure that out. Shh…they might be listening!

First, there was Tim Geithner, Obama’s pick for Secretary of Treasury (which happens to be the department in charge of the IRS) who failed to pay over $34,000 in income taxes. Then it was discovered that Tom Daschle, Obama’s choice for Secretary of Health and Human Services failed to pay over $100,000 in income taxes. A third revelation came out today when Nancy Killefer, Obama’s pick for the newly created position of Chief Performance Officer, announced she was withdrawing because of an issue involving her failure to pay unemployment taxes on household help.  Mr. Obama sure has done a bang up job of staffing his administration with responsible people, now hasn’t he?
